ABOUT THE PROGRAM


This program includes 30 professional education courses, following Republic Act 7836 and its amendment under Republic Act 9293 (The LET Law), as well as CMO 74 & 75, Series of 2017. The Teacher Certificate Program is a special offering open to any bachelor degree holders who wish to become professional teachers.

Students must complete at least 18 units of core professional education courses, as required by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC). This will qualify them to take the LET and to teach at the elementary or secondary school level, as mandated by the Department of Education (DepEd). Additionally, CIT offers optional professional education subjects (12 units) to enhance knowledge and competencies.

LEARNING MODALITIES

Caraga Institute of Technology is committed to providing quality education through distance learning. We believe a combination of synchronous and asynchronous methods ensures effective learning. The program lasts for 5 months, with classes every Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or every weekdays 5:30pm-7:30m depending on the enrollment. Classes are conducted either online via Zoom or modular through the CIT Learning Management System (LMS), depending on the instructor.

TCP 502 Facilitating Learner – Centered Teaching Cluster II 3 Examines contemporary theories and research on cognitive, metacognitive, motivational, sociocultural, and individual differences affecting knowledge acquisition, with applications to various contexts.
TCP 503 The Teaching Profession Cluster III 3 Explores the multifaceted role of teachers, emphasizing professional development, status enhancement, professional recognition, and competency improvement.
TCP 504 Assessment of Learning 1 Cluster IV 3 Provides skills for effective student assessment and evaluation of educational outcomes, focusing on alternative assessment methods to enhance teaching and learning.
TCP 505 Technology for Teaching & Learning Cluster V 3 Introduces essential knowledge, skills, and values for using technology in teaching, covering ICT policies, safety, media, and technology in subjects, and assessment methods with social, ethical, and legal responsibilities.
TCP 506 Educational Research & Evaluation Cluster V 3 Equips future educators with skills in evaluating educational programs and conducting research, covering evaluation methods, data collection, analysis, and application of research findings.

TCP 508 Teacher and the School Curriculum 3 Covers essential concepts and principles of curriculum development, preparing teachers to plan, implement, and evaluate school curricula. Emphasizes the active role of teachers in managing curriculum changes in various educational contexts and reforms.
TCP 509 Assessment of Learning 2 3 Builds on Assessment of Learning 1, focusing on advanced principles of student evaluation. Covers the design and use of formative, summative, and diagnostic assessments, aiming to equip educators with skills to analyze data, provide feedback, and enhance learning.
TCP 510 The Teacher & the Community School Culture & Organization 3 Examines the role of teachers within school culture and community organization. Covers community involvement, school governance, educational policies, and socio-cultural impacts on education, preparing teachers to foster a positive school environment.
Total: 12 Units


At the end of the program, graduates are expected to develop their competencies in syllabus design, instructional materials development, curriculum planning, effective instructional delivery, classroom management, and assessment.

After completion of the program, graduates will be awarded a Transcript of Records with the school seal (TOR) as evidence of completion of your 18 units of Professional Education subjects.

Admission Requirements

  • • Certificate of Transfer Credential with TOR and Good Moral Character

  • You can submit this within duration of the semester.
    NOTE: The applicant cannot apply in the Teacher Certificate Program if you are currently enrolled from another institution or living abroad.


Enrollment Procedure

Wait for approval from the admission office. Once approved, you will receive a text message in your registered number from CIT with your STUDENT ID.

Log in to your student portal at https://college.citkitcharao.edu.ph/. Your username and password will default to your STUDENT ID. Complete your log-in and change your password.

Pay the registration fee of 1,000 PHP via GCASH only. Take a screenshot of your proof of payment.

Upload your proof of payment to your student portal. To do this, log in to your student portal, then click on the Enrollment tab and fill out the necessary details. Leave the OR number field blank as it will be completed by the cashier.

Wait 2-4 days for the approval of your payment after cashier verification.

Once approved, check your study load for your class schedule in your student portal. An online orientation will be scheduled before the start of classes, and you will be notified via email.
